Royal Netherlands Society of Plant Pathology
The Royal Netherlands Society of Plant Pathology (in Dutch: Koninklijke Nederlandse Plantenziektekundige Vereniging KNPV) is one of world’s oldest plant pathology associations. It unites a diverse group of people who work or study within the field of plant pathology, or are interested in it. Therefore within KNPV a lot of knowledge is available about diseases and pests of plants and ways to keep plants healthy (crop protection).
KNPV was founded in 1891 by the Dutch phytopathologist Jan Ritzema Bos. It has over 600 members and promotes their cooperation and the exchange of knowledge within the association and beyond.
